To Grandmothers House We Go
I had never met my grandmother Catherine O’Beirne, nee Waldron, from Ireland, she had passed before I was born, so when my cousin Paul Waldron asked if I wanted to see the home she once lived in, I jumped at the chance. What I discovered was a house being slowly reclaimed by nature, being molten by the rain, giving life to plants and absorbed into the ground, very slowly. I have visited several times over the years to document its beautiful process of decay. This series is from 2013. Near Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, Ireland.
